FIRE PROJECT: the MOOC is available !

As a universal language, sport is a useful tool to boost social inclusion and can contribute to bringing people together regardless of nationality or origin. Through the football the FIRE seeks to contribute to promote inclusion, socialisation and access to sport for asylum-seekers, migrants and refugees.

Launched in January 2019 the FIRE project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme. It aims to support intercultural awareness within football clubs and help them welcome, work with migrants, refugees and asylum-seekers.

Within this framework, our partners have created a freely accessible MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) specifically elaborated for grassroots football clubs and local organizations. ESSCA School of Management has played a key role in it.

The MOOC is published, freely available and accessible from May 10, 2021. It has been specially designed for organisations who seek some support and guidance to implement an initiative, or programme, which strives to include refugees, migrants and asylum-seekers.

You already can find the teaser below:

The MOOC is organized around four modules:

  1. How to set up a project?
  2. How to get in touch with refugees?
  3. How to monitor and evaluate project?
  4. How to mobilize partners in an efficient way?

In terms of content, the MOOC will feature a variety of video sections from experts, volunteers and club leaders involved in the FIRE project. Diverse complementary documents, learning activities and regular self-assessment quizzes will be proposed and will allow you to obtain a certificate of achievement.

The MOOC also contains a users’ forum. It fosters networking and collaboration between participants, regardless of their location. It is a means to answer to common question that you may asked: how to reach out to refugee and migrant communities? How to overcome the most important barriers in realizing projects? How to organize activities that go beyond football training sessions? How to search for additional resources?

You will be able to study at your own pace over a period of four or five weeks. To register and find out more about the MOOC, click below
