More Than a Game – 4th National Conference FIRE Project

Football Including Refugees is almost reaching the end of its journey. It is now time for the fourth and last National Conference, held by Fundación LaLiga  in an online format. Partners are ready to offer another memorable FIRE “More than a Game” moment to the audience before the final sprint. Be connected on Thursday 18th of February, from 11.30am to 2pm.

The Football Including REfugee project (FIRE) is a 2-year initiative led by Sport and Citizenship Think Tank and funded by the

Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. Migration has become a highly sensitive topic across the European continent, regardless of the cause. While migration has been brought under the spotlight in recent years, the social inclusion of refugees, migrants, and asylum-seekers has unfortunately not attracted as much public interest. Founded on the belief that sport is a universal language that can harness to enable social progress, FIRE strives to foster local interlocutor openness through football. The project intends to provide grassroots football organizations with the tools and insights that will enable them to implement their very own social inclusion initiatives and programmes aimed at the displaced newcomers.

The event is open to everyone interested in the topic and it will be the opportunity to bring all national stakeholders together, whether they are volunteers, coaches, local grassroots football associations, asylum-seekers, migrants or refugees, associations or governmental bodies, around the same table to share their projects, good practices, ideas and initiatives.
