WAC Project: the pioneer phase intensifies!

Encouraging physical activity at the workplace is the aim of the WAC (Workplace Active Certification) project supported by the Erasmus+ Sport programme of the EU. Sport and Citizenship is one of the partners.

The WAC project is leading by the European Federation for Company Sport (EFCS). It aims to develop and launch a European certification for Active Workplace in September 2021 and to certify the first prize winner as of European Week of Sport in 2022.

The project started in January 2020 and has now began a new operational phase called: “Pioneer Phase”.

This new step aims to create a group of experts whose role is to actively participate in the development of the certification with tests, exchange time and meetings with partners and other actors of the WAC project. The objective of this join effort is to collect their good practices and experiences to adapt the WAC certification.

These pioneers have been selected right after a call for applications to enable the project to be more representative of the final users. Thus, 28 organizations from 7 countries (France, Belgium, Austria, Malta, Slovenia, Greece and Spain) have been selected.

To begin with, the next steps for the WAC Pioneers will be individual interviews with the partners before a meeting held in June 2021 with a group of experts selected by the partners.
